Mommy Struck Out!

Lucas' birthday is coming up in just a week and a bit.  We sat down together a week and a half ago to figure out his birthday invites.  I found the Yoda card on someone's blog (can't for the life of me find it again now!) He loved it when he saw it on their blog so I went downstairs and spent an hour making my first one.  I was so excited to show him, but he was not equally thrilled:(  He said that I got the mouth all wrong:)  In my oh-so-mature mommy mode, I told him that he could design one himself then and I passed him my computer.  His MDS invitation is below.... darn kid!!!!!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #95~ Spooky, Creepy Halloween Theme

I did it... I created my first Hybrid card!!!!!  I don't actually own any of these Halloween stamps or the coordinating DSP.  I used My Digital Studio to create and print out my card front.  I printed another page with a few of the embellishments and then I cut them out by hand and popped them up and you can see in the second photo.   I added a little retired lace and VOILA!

So Sweet and Simple...

I've seen versions of this card all over the internet lately... I decided that I had to make one as I had three of these felt wreaths left and really hadn't been inspired by them as of yet.  I love how quick and easy this card was to put together... a little sponging... one stamp... a bow and a few glue dots... LOVE IT!  There will be two more of these heading out this year with my Christmas cards:)

I'm really looking forward to my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack tonight:)

Sunny Sunday:)

It is a beautiful day here in North Vancouver today!  We had 7am hockey for both boys, came home went for a bike ride and walked the dogs.  We'd done all of this by 11am!  Well, it's 1:45pm and I'm ready for bed!  Funny how in my teens that wouldn't have phased me and at 36 it puts me flat on my bum!

In the chaos of daily life, I prepared three My Digital Studio projects for the contest that closed yesterday... guess what, I forgot to send them into to Stampin' Up.  Kind of hard to compete if you don't enter isn't it?  I'll get my act together sooner or later:)

Sorry for the irregular posting lately, and THANK YOU for all of your wonderful comments!  The feedback is REALLY appreciated!  Participating in challenge blogs has really kept me creating when times get busy lately.  This was a card that came out very quickly the other night... I think it was only 15 minutes from start to finish. I love it when creating comes easy as we've all experienced the pain of working for hours with nothing to show at the end:)  This is definitely not a colour combo I would naturally reach for, but when  I grabbed my colour coach for some guidance, this was what I came across:)

Mojo Monday Card Sketch

Hope you're having a great day!  I made some time to play on Tuesday night and created this fun and quick Christmas card with one of my favourite Christmas sets this year, Merry and Type! The Mojo Monday card sketch was adorable and forced me to change up the angle of my ribbon... Stampin' Royalty Colour Challenge #92

Let me start off by saying thanks so much for the sweet comments lately!  You have no idea the difference they make in my day to day!

This week's Stampin' Royalty Challenge is a colour challenge... a VERY difficult one!  I was okay with So Saffron and Elegant Eggplant... even Old Olive was manageable, but that darn More Mustard was near impossible.  The only thing I saw when I though of Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard together was the uniform of someone in a marching band:)

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge 87~ Colour Challenge

First off, make sure that you head over to Hand Stamped Sentiments today to check out the fabulous inspirations for this AWESOME colour challenge!  I love these three colours together!

 I have to admit that I'm a little embarrassed looking at these photos!  I finished this card a few nights ago and took the photos soon after finishing.  What I didn't notice until just now is that looking at the photos makes me realize that the colour in the balloon bled when I added the dazzling details:(  I'll try and get down to my room to redo the balloon later today, but for now it is the early.... early, early morning and I really need to go to sleep:)

If this card looks vaguely familiar to you, it's because it is the identical layout to the card that I made a few weeks ago with the ice cream cones:)   I was making a card for my amazing nephew who is nine years old today.  I really struggle making cards for him as he's getting older and my cutesy cards don't seem to cut it anymore.  I know that the "Extreme" stamps are retired, but these are definitely the bunch that I won't be letting go of as they are perfect for "tweens" birthdays:)
